7 Biggest Learning Lessons In 2024
I thought it’d be fun to start a yearly tradition where I go through some of my biggest life lessons for the year.
I’ll be covering these 3 aspects: Self, relationship and business.
Self
I’ve been involved in the personal development space in the past 8 years and I can say that 2024 has been one of the hardest years for me so far.
Earlier this year, I realized that I was an empath and a highly sensitive person (HSP). Looking back, I think I’ve always managed to hide it pretty well. I learned to put up a tough front because society taught me that showing vulnerability was a sign of weakness.
Once I realized that being sensitive was part of who I am, I honestly hated it.
I wished I wasn’t this way and wished that I could be more detached and cold-hearted sometimes. I spent the next few months fighting this part of myself, refusing to accept the reality.
Eventually, I realized that my sensitivity is my superpower. It allows me to sense and read other people’s energies. It helps me avoid people and environments that could harm me, protecting me in ways I hadn’t appreciated before.
This understanding then became the foundation for everything I learned this year.
Energetic health > Physical & Mental health
I’ve watched countless fitspo people with rock hard 6 pec abs, pumping it out regularly 4-6 times a week at the gym, struggle behind-the-scenes with anxiety, depression and burnout.
If your energetic health is neglected—your life force is drained, your emotions are suppressed, or you’re stuck in a cycle of low-frequency states like stress or negativity—then no amount of physical effort can fill that void.
Energy is the foundation to EVERYTHING in life.Your body carries an insane amount of innate wisdom
Have you ever wondered why your body seems to “know” things before your mind does?
For example, you get a sinking feeling in your stomach before making a decision you know isn’t right for you. Or maybe your heart races when you meet someone that feels really special to you.
Science has proven that your heart is far more than a simple pump—it’s a dynamic, intelligent organ that processes and communicates information in profound ways. In the sciencey world, they call it the “heart brain”.
It’s constantly sending signals to the brain that influence emotions, decision-making, and even cognitive functions. The brain is always 2 steps behind the heart.
Most people brush their feelings aside, but this innate wisdom is always guiding you—whether it’s nudging you toward something or warning you to stay away from what might harm you.Trust your body’s innate wisdom—it knows the way even when your mind doubts.
Our bodies are not built to last
Every living being on Earth has a cycle.
Planting, growth, reaping, hibernation.
When we treat our bodies like a machine, expecting for it to keep up 24/7, it will break. Even elite athletes have a cycle, they don’t train all the time. Instead, they follow carefully planned cycles of intense training followed by recovery and rest, allowing their bodies to rebuild and perform at their peak. This balance between work and rest is crucial.
Before I realized this, I would always feel guilty for not working or taking a break. But now I know that my body also follows a cycle.
For instance, I’ve noticed that my energy closely mirrors the moon’s phases. When it is full moon, I subconsciously turn into a wolf and go into hiding (ok just kidding). My energy levels are much lower, so I leave my social and work activities to a minimum.
To go against the flow of nature is to fight against the very force that sustains us.
4. Micro goals > Macro goals
Big goals can be extremely paralyzing, especially if you have some form of ADHD.
Micro goals are small, manageable steps that build momentum and keep you on track, while macro goals can often feel distant and discouraging. The small wins overtime also builds up your confidence towards bigger goals.
Business
This year was the most exciting year for my career since I took my sabbatical in 2021.
As I came to accept my sensitivities, I felt guided to take a different path than where I initially came from. Since young, I had always been drawn to understand the world on a deeper level.
I went down the rabbit hole of understanding space, quantum physics, spirituality, energy and human existence.
What I found definitely blew. my. mind.
And it changed my life exponentially for the better.
Humanity is undergoing a profound transition into a new era, and in just 10 years, the way we eat, live, and interact with the world will look drastically different.
But in order for a new era to take place, the old has to fall before the new can rebuild itself.
To help people thrive in this shift, I’ve started running energy workshops that teach practical ways to enhance your energy. If you’re keen to join the next session, get on the waitlist here.
Anyway, here are some key lessons I’ve learned while getting back into business after a long hiatus:
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with a team.
I ran over 10 events this year and it all happened in the last 4.5 months of the year.
Juggling admin, marketing, sales, tech alone was very challenging as a Projector (Human Design). I’m in an experimental phase where I’m pushing myself to my maximum limits and seeing if I can expand it further. While I didn’t drown, I definitely know that I’m going to need more help soon.
Manifesting a team to help me out the next year! The energetics of business
Because energy is the foundation of everything, I accidentally discovered business energetics while I was conducting an energy healing session.
To sum it up, it has completely transformed the way I approach business. It’s about aligning your personal energy with the flow of your business to attract the right clients and opportunities.
It’s helped me land incredible clients—clients I could only dream of—despite taking a 3-year hiatus, and now I have the privilege of working from anywhere in the world.
I don’t know if I should run a workshop on this next year. If you guys have an interest, drop me a DM on Instagram.
Relationships
Always trust your instinct
Looking back, whenever I met someone new—whether friends, potential romantic partners, or business connections—I’d often ignore that uneasy feeling and brush my instincts aside, giving them the benefit of the doubt. This year has shown me that your instincts are never wrong. We all carry an energy field around us, which acts like a magnet. Naturally, we are drawn to people who resonate with our energy and repelled by those whose energy doesn't align with ours.
Your energy knows exactly who and what aligns with your truth.
The best item I bought
I love my water flosser to death.
Seriously a life-changing device that everyone should have. It clears all the gunk out from your teeth without the traditional flossing, even though dentists don’t recommend you to still skip the traditional floss even if you use a water flosser.
It feels good and your teeth feels extra clean after. Also +1 for gum massage.
Link to the exact one I use (the most convenient one for travelling, since I travel a lot). I don’t recommend getting the cheaper ones that are brandless and made in China. My dad got one and he had to throw it out after 2 weeks because it didn’t work well.
If you get the same brand which I used, the first time is going to feel weird for sure, but it gets better over time.
My gums have never been healthier!
Conclusion
2024 was a rather challenging year with lots of ups and downs, but it is the year which I fell in love with life again.
I feel like I have been in hibernation mode for the past 3 years, and I’m just restarting my engines again. I stalled a couple of times so far, but I’m ready to shift gears and step into 2025 better, stronger and with more fun.
Lots of exciting plans upcoming!
Thanks for riding along with me. Here’s to a happier, healthier, and more energized 2025! 🥳
